March 14, 2009 marked the first annual youth marathon reading. Over twenty young writers gathered at the Brooklyn Central Library to share their poetry and prose. Their words were powerful, the audience enthusiatic, and cake plentiful.  NYWC workshop leader Angeli Rasbury hosted the reading, which included writers from New Lots, Eastern Parkway and Bayridge Public Libraries and The Arab American Family Support Center. The event  is sure to become one of NYWC’s most anticipated annual readings. Thanks to everyone who made it out to support our young readers.
