We used to live dangerously

caution never entered our minds

We used to live extemporaneously

in the fast lane all the time

We used to live passionately

fervent commitment...or none at all

We used to live spontaneously

Excitement...our siren's call

But now we're on to a different adventure

Though no less courage demands the task

We look back-where did the years go?

That's what we all seem to ask

The future beckons-but who knows for just how long?

So pass your days quenching your yearnings

Self-denial...make it a thing of the past

No one knows when the finish line's coming

So don't let that get in your way

And try, if just for a little bit

To live dangerously today
